Mongolian largest airport is the Chinggis International Airport which is 18 km southwest of the capital Ulaanbaatar.In Mongolia, the first airport was established in 14, February, 1957. It was named as a Buyant-Ukhaa airport and one year later they did international flights to Moscov and Beijing on first time. Since 2005, the airport has been using new name Chinggis Khaan International Airport. The airport is the main base of operations for national carriers MIAT Mongolian Airlines, Eznis Airways and Aero Mongolia. All passengers should drive some distance to reach their accommodations, either home or hotel. Mostly the Ulaanbaatar hotels are around 20 km from the international airport and it takes 20 minutes plus or minus. The nearest hotels in Genghis Khan airport is the hotels which are in the center of Ulaanbaatar city. For instance, when you drive from airport to the central part of city, you will pass the peace bridge and will see first hotels, such as Bayangol hotel, Ulaanbaatar hotel then turn right or left you will find Continental hotel, Evergreen hotel, Lion hotel.., etc.
